Mat Pilates Teacher Training

Our Mat Pilates Teacher Training at Luna House offers a contemporary, education-driven approach rooted in classical Pilates principles, movement science, and functional strength training. This program is designed to help future instructors develop a deep understanding of movement, not simply memorize exercises or choreography.

Throughout the training, students are guided through foundational, intermediate, and advanced mat repertoire while learning the purpose behind each exercise, how to teach it effectively, and how to adapt it for different bodies, injuries, and experience levels.

A strong emphasis is placed on teaching methodology, cueing, anatomy, biomechanics, breathwork, and intelligent movement patterns. Trainees learn how to observe movement, recognize compensation patterns, create purposeful progressions, and offer meaningful modifications and challenges that support long-term movement health.

This training explores:
• Pilates principles and how they apply to every movement
• Foundational, intermediate, and advanced mat repertoire
• Anatomy, biomechanics, and functional movement
• Breath, core integration, and postural awareness
• Effective verbal, tactile, and visual cueing
• Class sequencing and programming
• Modifications, progressions, and injury considerations
• Neutral spine, imprint, alignment, and movement efficiency
• Building confidence as a teacher and communicator
• Creating safe, supportive, and intentional class experiences

Rather than focusing on intensity alone, our approach prioritizes precision, control, awareness, and sustainable strength. Trainees leave with the tools to teach thoughtfully designed classes that are accessible, adaptable, and grounded in both the classical roots of Pilates and modern movement understanding.

This is a training designed to create confident, knowledgeable instructors who understand movement deeply, communicate clearly, and know how to support clients in a meaningful and lasting way.
