Reiki & Sound Healing in Bolton: Why They Work Beautifully Together | Luna House
Updated: Aug 26
If you've been around Luna House for a while, you know that we believe wellness can look different from day to day.
Some days we need to move. Some days we need to feel strong. Some days we need a really good stretch. And sometimes, we need to wrap ourselves in a blanket, close our eyes, and have absolutely nothing expected of us.
That is one of the reasons I love bringing Reiki and sound healing together.
Both practices invite us to slow down and turn inward, but they do it in different ways. When we combine them, something really beautiful happens. Sound fills the room and gives the mind somewhere to land, while Reiki offers a quieter, more personal layer to the experience.
And you don't need to know anything about Reiki, sound healing, chakras, or meditation to join us.
You just need to show up.

So, What Exactly Is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese energy practice that is traditionally understood as working with the body's energetic system. A Reiki practitioner may place their hands gently on or just above the body while you rest comfortably.
Everyone experiences Reiki differently.
Some people notice warmth or tingling. Some feel incredibly relaxed. Some become emotional. Others don't necessarily feel anything specific in the moment but enjoy having the opportunity to be still.
There isn't a right way to experience it.
I think that's important because sometimes we put pressure on ourselves even when we're trying to relax. We wonder if we're meditating properly, if we're feeling what we're "supposed" to feel, or if everyone else is having some incredible experience while we're thinking about what we're making for dinner.
That's okay too.
At Luna, Reiki isn't about forcing an experience. It's about creating space for one.
And What Is Sound Healing?
If you've never experienced a sound bath, the name can be a little confusing. There is no actual bath involved — you stay completely dry, I promise.
Instead, you get comfortable while different sounds and vibrations move through the space around you. Depending on the experience, you may hear crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums, or other instruments.
You're not listening in the same way you would listen to a song.
You allow the sound to surround you.
For anyone who has ever said, "I can't meditate because my brain won't stop," this can be especially lovely. Instead of trying to make your mind completely quiet, the sounds give your attention somewhere to return.
Your thoughts wander.
You notice.
You come back to the sound.
That's part of the practice.
Why Reiki + Sound Healing Together?
One of the things I love most about combining Reiki and sound is that neither asks you to perform.
So much of our lives involve doing.
We're working, teaching, parenting, answering messages, making appointments, caring for other people, planning what needs to happen next — and even wellness can sometimes start to feel like another thing we're supposed to be doing "right."
This isn't that.
During a Reiki and sound healing experience, the sound creates an atmosphere that everyone in the room can experience together. Reiki adds another intentional layer as the practitioner moves throughout the space.
You get to lie down.
Get comfortable.
Breathe.
And receive.
Sometimes that's exactly what we need.
Who Is Reiki + Sound Healing For?
You absolutely do not need to consider yourself a spiritual person to come to a Reiki and sound bath.
You also don't need an established meditation or yoga practice.
You might simply be curious.
Maybe life has felt particularly full lately and you're craving some quiet. Maybe you're moving through a transition and want space to reflect. Maybe you love meditation and want to explore another practice. Or maybe you've seen singing bowls all over Instagram and you're finally wondering what all the fuss is about.
Reiki and sound healing may be a beautiful experience for someone looking for:
Time to intentionally slow down
A deeply restful wellness experience
An introduction to meditation or energy practices
Space for reflection and inward connection
A complement to an existing yoga or mindfulness practice
A break from constant stimulation and doing
A wellness practice that isn't focused on physical performance
Sometimes you don't need another workout.
You need rest.
What Will I Feel During a Reiki + Sound Bath?
This is probably one of the questions I hear most often, and my answer is always the same:
Your experience is yours.
You may feel deeply relaxed. You might notice different physical sensations as you settle. You may feel emotional or reflective. You might drift in and out of sleep.
Or you may simply think, Wow, I really needed an hour where nobody needed anything from me.
All of those experiences are valid.
You don't need to see colours.
You don't need to have a revelation.
You don't need to leave feeling like an entirely different person.
Sometimes rest is enough.
Actually, I think we underestimate how powerful simply giving ourselves permission to rest can be.
There's Space for All of It at Luna
At Luna House, we've never wanted wellness to feel like something you have to fit yourself into.
We want our offerings to meet you where you are.
There are days when that might mean getting your heart rate up in a Reformer class. Other days it might mean slowing things down on your yoga mat. And sometimes it means being wrapped in a blanket while the sound of a singing bowl fills the room.
There is space for all of it here.
Our Reiki and Sound Healing experiences at Luna House in Bolton are an invitation to step away from the noise for a little while and reconnect with yourself.
Come exactly as you are.
We'll hold the space from there. 🌙
